CAPOON'S BAY, Tortola, VI - Member of the Opposition and First District Representative Honourable Andrew A. Fahie said he has no qualms about acknowledging that an idea for an initiative is a good one regardless of whose idea it was.

And he made no apologies for having meetings with Ministers of the Government with a view to bringing relief to the people of the First District.

Speaking at the opening of his First District Job Fair and Career Expo held today October 16, 2015, Honourable Fahie said he will continue to have these meetings to the benefit of his people.

"I don't have any egos. If Youth Employment Services is doing something good in going to check them. If they could help my people then they are my friends," he said.

"If the Labour Department is doing something good no matter who's in power I'm going to check them because one they can help my people and the people of this territory I am going to check them," he declared.

"Hence I have started some meetings with all ministers. This is an initiative I have started with the Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr The Honourable Kedrick D. Pickering, Minister for Education and Culture Honourable Myron V. Walwyn and other ministers a few months ago," he said.

He addressed the talk that he was jumping ship to the Government side when news of the meetings some months ago got around.

"I wasn't jumping. I was jumping into the offices to pick up the goods and services for the people of the First District," he said.

nothing wrong with jumping ship hon fahie; the ship that you are cruising around on now is taking on serious water and the bilge pump not working: you can't afford to swim ashore because you are to far out to sea......

Out of all the good that happen & that Fahie mentioned in the First District job fair look what is the first & only thing being reported. This is outrageous & an attempt to get at Fahie again. Good job today Fahie.

Why is this article more targeting the meetings with the Ministers more than what was done for the youth? Too many political game playing in this country. I am a VIP. I am from the First District. I support Fahie & his efforts. I also am one who gets down on him when he is wrong. Fahie handles criticism as well as he handles praise. I say that to inform all those in the VIP outside of the 1st District in this so called VIP Congress that hates Fahie & is trying to paint him black for his actions in the party which needed to be done, please note that Fahie is not a NUT WITHOUT A SHELL! Enough said for now.

Everyone except a few in the so called VIP Congress knows that Fahie definitely is not responsible for the VIP downfall before nor after the elections. I pray that those persons that continue to think so & continue to try to destroy Fahie as a result will soon come out of denial before they go mentally ill.
