CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI – Representative of the Second District Honourable Melvin Mitch Turnbull believes finding a balance is the key to successfully juggling family life, politics and his youth mentorship work.

This he revealed during an interview with this news site on Sunday August 23, 2015 during which he spoke about his work in the Second District.

"With everything it's balance. You have to have a balanced life. That’s one of the things I tried my best...to ensure I balance the things that I do," he said.

"For me the order hasn't changed...God, family and then everything else," he said, noting that he clearly has a huger responsibility now in terms of being the Representative of the Second District.

"For the first two months it has been very very interesting, intriguing and exciting. There's a lot of information. I don't mind reading. I love to read of the laws and getting familiar with the procedures. The team has been very supportive and I'm excited to continue to learn. I listen and I take in and I find my way of doing it...my own avenue to reach out to the people."

He said while his new role means a lot of adjustment, it is not something that he would have taken on if he didn't feel he could handle it.

Regarding his brainchild Project Lion Heart, he said that this had been put on hold since it was decided that he would run for office. Project Lion Heart is a youth mentorship programme that Turnbull started some time ago as a way of boosting the potential of young people and helping them to achieve their dreams.

"We are actually going to start back Project Lion Heart in October...running the module that we were doing and in partnership with the courts and everything," he said.

Obviously both commentators above are not very supportive - nay-sayers to put it right. I encourage both of you to keep an eye on Hon. "Mitch" Turnbull as time rolls by, then see if things ain't going no where. I personally think that this initiative, was a very necessary and GOOD THING! Hon. Turnbull, keep on keeping on. You/we serve a Big God through whom we can do ALL THINGS; not to mention the support from your fellow-Ministers of Govt., your immediate and extended family circle and your brethren in the Lord!!!

Were the settings for these meetings deliberate or were they just for a cultural message? It Is obvious that those kids especially those on Jost Van Dyke need a special meeting place.

We need Music Festival back the old way--How would his church belief and music Festival co-exist?. He seems like a smart genuine guy he would work it out.
