ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI: The House of Assembly (HoA) of the Virgin Islands will continue on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at its Chambers in Road Town.

They had a sitting last Wednesday, October 17, 2018, but could not continue after members were visibly shaken over the death of one member, Hon Delores Lettsome-Christopher who represented the 5th district.

The 70-year-old Mrs Lettsome-Christopher originally from Long Look on the eastern side of Tortola died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 after being ill. She served in office from 2003-2007, then again in 2011 until the time of her death.

Recovery Development Agency Plan

However, at the October 23, 2018 session members are expected to debate the controversial Recovery Development Agency Plan.  Many have seen the Development Board itself as an alternate government because the United Kingdom and international donors do not trust the Dr Smith led administration with money.

According to former Governor John S. Duncan OBE in public statements, he said that the National Democratic Party Government “mismanaged funds, has no spending priorities” and lambasted them for “lack of audited financial reports” among many other failures.

The HoA sitting is expected to start at 10:00 AM on October 23, 2018, and will be carried live on CBN Radio 90.9 FM.
