Hon Ralph T. O’Neal endorses Elton ‘All Out’ Sprauve for D9!
Speaking exclusively yesterday, May 7, 2015 to this news site, Hon O’Neal said he listened to the presentation by Sprauve during the VIP Congress and was impressed by the depth of his experience.
'A good man for the job'
Asked how he felt about the Committee settling on Sprauve for the Ninth District, Hon O’Neal said that he did not see anything wrong with it. “I believe he would be a good man for the job,” said O’Neal in reference to Sprauve.
“As he said last night (Wednesday night May 6, 2015) he worked for the US Government and their Air Force and now he wants a chance to work for his country,” said Hon O’Neal. “I think that it was a most interesting talk that he made,” said the VIP stalwart.
Up to April 4, 2015 during the opening of the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival named in his honour, the octogenarian said he was not going to encourage anyone in particular to contest the Ninth District as he did not want to be accused of trying to influence people’s minds one way or the other. However, now that many have since announced their candidacy without the political icon's influence, Hon O'Neal has made it known who he believes might be the right person for the district.
"In May last year I announced I will not be standing for elections. I thought it was fair and reasonable to give someone else a chance.
"I am not going to say who must run. I don't want them to say Ralph gone and he doing this and that. People must make their decision," Hon O'Neal had said last month.
My hero, my father's hero
Sprauve, speaking on the radio show 'VIP Let's Talk' on ZBVI 780AM on Wednesday May 6, 2015 said he was honoured to be selected as Ninth District candidate for the VIP and called Hon O’Neal not only his hero but his father’s hero.
“Hon Ralph T. O’Neal OBE (R9) was my hero…my father’s hero…a great man. And now he has passed on the baton to another man who can fight for you,” he said. “We all need to deal with certain issues especially on Virgin Gorda. We have to deal with our developers, to our ports, to our seniors, to education, to the North Sound community,” he said as he outlined briefly some of the issues that would be front and centre of his agenda.
Mr Sprauve will be up against the National Democratic Party candidate Dr Hubert O’Neal, the People’s Empowerment Party’s Faye J. Reese-Charles and Independent candidates Dr Rawle R. Hannibal, Mr Albert O. Wheatley and Mrs Stephanie I. Faulkner-Williams for the 9th District seat to be vacated by Hon Ralph T. O'Neal, OBE.

What a desperate set of people!
island and lives on the island. He knows the challenges.
Th 9th is recognized as the Tourism Island. He, a hospitality person himself, having been competed with our Culinary team in Florida at least twice, traveled to the UK to further represent the country within the last 2 years;
sits on the Development Planning Board. H will represent. The thing is for us now, to stand with him, and support him by Going All Out 4 All Out and the entire VIP Team. As much as we might like him personally, he is not running for Premier, and will need a Team, to carry out his plans and Vision
All Out and Team Vip . a Team 4 the People; Not the other way around.
May God continue to Bless Us all. Forward ever...Backwards Never.!
Hannibal would have been my next choice, but not discriminating him, he's just as immobile as RTO'Neal. I think he needs to go and deal with his therapy and come next election should All Out Not deliver to us!!
told the public he aint endorsing any one.
