Hon. Julian Fraser celebrates with octogenarian
He spoke glowingly of the tremendous contribution she made to the Sea Cows Bay community and the entire Virgin Islands, highlighting her dedication as a teacher and principal. Hon. Fraser also spoke of the part she played in his upbringing. He spoke jokingly of having to ‘toe the line’ because the Head-teacher was living in the family yard.
The members of the Gospel of Jesus Evangelistic Pentecostal Church lauded her for her contributions to their lives. They honoured her as a praying woman of God, a mother to all, teacher, friend, for her kindness and as one who pastured and nurtured them for years.
Pastor Stanley Bernard extolled her kindness, her prayers that were constant and her willingness to go out at all hours of the night to minister to those in need.
Her daughter Beverlie spoke of her as a praying, kind and caring mother. She recalled how her mother would turn off the stove and head out to pray for someone who called or who the Lord brought to her heart.
She said that even now she does not know how her dear mother was able to juggle being a parent, a teacher and pastor in the true sense of the word – attending to the needs of others.
