Hon Fraser warns Hon Walwyn, ‘every dog has his day’

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Representative of the Third District the Honourable Julian Fraser RA, warned Minister for Education and Culture Hon Myron V. Walwyn that every “dog” has his day.

Hon Fraser was speaking during the Seventh Sitting of the Third Session of the Second House of Assembly on Friday June 13, 2014.

He made the reference with regard to earlier statements by Minister Walwyn who tried to ridicule what the Member for the Third District said about the Territory’s education system.

Hon Fraser was at the time making his contribution in which he commented on the Ministry of Education’s plans for the education system in terms of an additional school year and its inclusion of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate to the curriculum of the Virgin Islands.

Hon Walwyn in a very controversial and disrespectful manner dismissed the contribution of Hon Fraser, telling him he did not know what he was speaking about and that he should have asked his colleague Hon Andrew A. Fahie – a former Minister for Education and Culture – regarding the issues he was seeking to speak about.

“[The Member] does not know what he is speaking about,” said Hon Walwyn during the sitting. “[I’m sure if he had asked his colleague he would have gotten some correct information],” said Hon Walwyn.

Sometime later in the sitting, while on his feet, Hon Fraser, referring to the earlier statements by Hon Walwyn which were directed towards him, said, “[don’t worry]…every dog has his day.”

Fraser is correct. Every dog has their day and who would know that more than him? Remember, this is why NDP is in office because he, Fraser was the dog that had his day.

Minister of Education, the people put you in power and you are now in office. We don't want to hear what the former minister did and what he is to be blamed for. If any member of the house ask a question, it should be answered respectfully. If you don't have and answer and need more time to research, then say so, but do it respectfully. This is not your house, or the house for the member for the 3rd. This is the PEOPLE'S house and you are there, not on your own strength, but to do the people's business. With every percentage of arrogance you guys display, it is giving the voters the power to vote you out - even if its just because of arrogance. Don't show disrespect and then go to the schools and tell the youths about respect. Lead by example

How the hell did this educated f..l m. come up with this idea about Fraser knowledge and what evidence could he possibly have to support his idea? Mr. Fraser has been in power much longer and served as Minister for 8 years so he would have seen Papers on education matters!!!!! Would he not have been also in Standing Finance committee during some 10 years plus on education matters?

This ball headed guy is so silly and has turn off the country from both the House and the NDP

I was listening on the radio and I found the comments of the Minister to be quite disrespectful. He made the disrespectful comments two times. the second time he did it with more emphasis. The only thing he didn't do was to actually call the district representative stupid.
