SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- "A promise made is a debt unpaid," said Robert W. Service, a renowned British-Canadian poet and writer.

Well, Third District Representative Hon Julian Fraser RA has literally paid his debt to the BVI Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) School located in Sea Cows Bay, on the main island of Tortola.

Hon Fraser recently made a donation of $10,000 to the school’s computer lab, delivering on a promise made at the BVI SDA School’s first ever fundraising gala dinner on Sunday March 19, 2017 at The Moorings.

The veteran legislator Hon Fraser was one of four persons honoured at the time for their significant contributions towards the learning institution over the years.

A high point of the gala dinner had come when Hon Fraser, who is regarded as unquestionably the most accessible Representative in the area of education and who has always given his unwavering support to the BVI SDA School over the years, pledged $10,000 towards the school’s computer lab.

His announcement was received with much applause and Hon Fraser jokingly said he was quitting while ahead as persons urged him to “keep talking.”

The BVI SDA has consistently produced 100% passes at School Leaving Exams and some of the Territory’s top students.

The school's principal is Mr Wade W. Tobin, a former principal of Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).

Meanwhile, both Hon Fraser and Mr Tobin did not respond to our questions regarding what exactly the monies will be used to purchase or spent on.

It is a good thing that he has done but he abandon the 3rd District when they needed him the most after Irma.

@"To Great", I believe in giving jack his jacket when its due (regardless of political affiliation), so I will refute your statement about Hon. Fraser abandoning his district after Irma. I recall that when Hon. Fraser was distributing relief supplies in his district, I (who am not from the district) accompanied an elderly lady from the district. Hon. Fraser was there in person with his wife and volunteers, distributing items to all who came.

@ just asking: one thing fraser looks out for #3 & fahie for #1: I personally think the district voting system was the best; this at large system is a waste of time because you most see an at large candidate just before the election....9 districts: the people tax money won’t have to pay for 4 those additional members of the house: we now have 13 members and the country is no better

The district foolishness needs to stop! The 4th District is the capital and needs urgent attention from ALL of Government so the entire Territory can benefit.
