The Premier in his Mother’s Day message, reflected on the words of Historian Washington Irving, “A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us,” he said in noting that mothers play a role as counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness in one’s life. In quoting a proverb from Poet J. Rudyard Kipling, the Premier implored, “God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers,” while saluting his own mother, Iris Dorene Romney-Fahie and wife Sheila E.
