ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Second Sitting of the First Session of the Fourth House of Assembly (HoA) of the Virgin Islands (VI) is off to a start Today, April 2, 2019, where Premier and Minister of Finance Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) will be presenting the 2019 budget estimates which according to him, must be passed by April 30, 2019.

Sustainable Growth

According to the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Premiers Office, Mrs Elvia Smith- Maduro in a release, the theme for this year’s Budget Address is, ‘Transitioning Towards Sustainable Growth’.

She said Further, the Honourable Premier will speak about the state of the Territory with a focus on the Territory’s economic and fiscal performance and immediately following the delivery of the Budget Address, the Government of the Virgin Islands will distribute its annual e-newsletter, titled “Budget in Brief 2019”.

According to the release, the newsletter is a snapshot of the 2019 Budget as presented by the Premier where residents are eager see how the Hon Fahie led Virgin Islands Party (VIP) budget will differ from the Dr. D. Orlando Smith budget under his National Democratic Party (NDP).
