DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- The House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands has announced it will convene its next Sitting on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

House of Assembly spokesman Linton V. Leonard, in a media notice, said it will be the Eighth Sitting of the Second Session of the Fourth House of Assembly (HoA) and it will take place at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom.

Mr Leonard noted that the meeting will start at 10:00 am but did not release the Order of the Day.

Debate? No comment

It’s our understanding; however, that the long-awaited audited report of the BVI Airways scandal will be laid on the table by Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1).

It is unclear whether a debate will happen at Thursday’s Sitting on this report, as Speaker of the HoA, Hon Julian Willock declined to comment.

It is also unclear if the Premier will announce his long-awaited stimulus package to the Territory in the HoA.

hindsight is 20/20 because the plane will be an asset all now: was it mismanagement of government funds or a legitimate transaction that went bad-some of you can recall that airport project. so bvi airways is nothing new under the sun: administration after administration passes laws to entrap the small man but some how find difficulty getting laws on the books to govern their conduct
