BALSAM GHUT, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching our newsroom is that an inmate of Her Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut threatened to commit suicide early last week.

The inmate, said to be from Virgin Gorda, allegedly threatened to overdose on medication combined with a cleaning agent.

The incident reportedly occurred sometime between last Monday, November 11, 2019 and Tuesday night, November 12, 2019.

According to the source, the inmate said he was going to drink a cup of Pine Sol, along with some pills.

Initial reports reaching our newsroom were that the prisoner actually ingested the substance and had to be hospitalised; however, Superintendent of Prisons, Mr Verne A. G. Garde dismissed such reports.

Precautionary measure taken

According to Mr Garde, when the patient threatened to injest the harmful substance he was removed from the prison and taken to the 'behavioural clinic' at the D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

"What I got from the initial report is that the inmate did threaten that he would have done this and done that so for precautionary measures we did bring him down to the hospital."

"When they [medical personnel] did the examination on him no such thing was found and the inmate is now an in-patient at the behavioural centre," Mr Garde told Virgin Islands News Online.

Superintendent God (Spelling Intentional) not to long ago said: enforcing non-punitive measures towards rebellious inmates at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) is paying off.

I guess that this is part of that pay off.

He did do what he said he was going to do and drank the cleaning agent and the pills. So stop trying to water down everything and say that you took precautions and took him to mental health. YAH TO DA*N L>>>!!

For a place that's always quick to claim that they're a Christian society, just read the evil thoughts from its people.
I don't know who the inmate is or what he allegedly did, but we all deserve a chance. Wow youall are amazingly interesting.
    Son, Jesus loves you

This place is populated with some of the wickedest demons on earth. They hide behind a smoke screen of Christianity not realizing that their actions speak plenty louder than words.

Christianity does not mean that you stay there and let others walk over you. Every action receives a reaction. If you are constantly late for work what should a Christian do? If you are being undermined what should a Christian do. If you are not doing your job like you should what should a Christian do. Get yourself together.
