HM Customs seizes vessel 'Thalia'

WICKHAM'S CAY II, Tortola, VI – Her Majesty's Customs has seized a yacht and is keeping it in custody at The Moorings in Wickham's Cay II, this news site can confirm.

When we visited The Moorings today March 3, 2016, the boat named 'Thalia' was tied up along Dock 'C' and Customs tape marked “Seized by BVI Customs” was placed on various parts of the vessel.

This is the second vessel in a matter of about six weeks that the Customs has held on to and which was kept in custody at The Moorings.

On February 18, 2016 this news site reported that Customs had seized a vessel named 'One Love', which we had also found moored at The Moorings.

When this news site contacted Commissioner of Customs Wade Smith to confirm the seizure and say what it was seized for, he said, “Well if the tape is around it I can't comment on it right now. Sorry about that.”

We will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as more information comes to light.

    now; that's what I talking bout: way to go but I hope the adminstration don't act the fool with the head of customs for executing his duties...you know we live in a community where the law is only applicable to certain people in this territory ( yes I said it so call me a racist)...

    If you don't know anything people need to shut up. There was no drugs involved and further more government want money so they will try to come after the yacht company. But remember they also help to build the economic

      @ when you don't know; so because that company help to build our economy mean that law enforcement officer should close their eyes to criminal activity; lost more of then in this territory doing a set of bull-$hit, but folks like you believe because them help build the economy we just simply close our eyes; the devil will always be a liar; time longer than twine: thank you customs
