'High impacting' Gov't services to resume next week- David D. Archer Jr
The various departments; however, must first be inspected and given clearance.
Deputy Governor Mr David D. Archer Jr stated that just like how the private sector has to meet certain health and safety standards in this COVID-19 pandemic, the public sector too must meet the mark.
He informed, via Facebook live stream on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, that all heads of departments received a checklist depicting the requirements, such as the six feet social distancing and sanitisation rules put in place to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus, which causes COVID-19.
“So they had homework in advance, so they would need to work towards that checklist, to ensure that they have all the things on that list and you have to have 80 per cent to be able to open on that day just as the private sector,” he said.
Inspections underway
In the meantime, inspections for government departments are underway, he said.
“We inspected about five yesterday, today 17 will take place, and so by Monday, we will have those organisations ready to begin. We have a list of 22, but I am hoping to have about 35 ready for Monday.”
The Deputy Governor stated that some of the government departments expected to commence operations by Monday, May 4, 2020, include the Labour, Immigration, Inland Revenue, Trade and Traffic departments.
He added: “The other departments that are more administrative will come on a little bit slower, but we are dealing with high impacting client-based departments first. So by the end of next week, we want to have all of our departments ready and open.”

I don't have a problem with no one, because at the end of the day everyone has a right to their own opinions, but is how they used it, u know what I'm saying, truth
Mighty funny how they stash their money to send home and they crying about they can’t pay rent. I guarantee you. if Money Gram or Western Union open today, the lines would be wrapped around the corner with the same people who is lying about they can’t pay rent sending the money to their Country. Those people are slicker than slick. It is time you start paying back the money that you have been fleecing the BVI out of for the past few years. 7%. It is.
Most the tenants that are delinquent or late, or full of excuse not to pay their Rent are BVIlanders....Kee off the I**** People..They dont owe... They are my preference when come to renting...my money sure at the 1st of the Month..My people dont pay always have a story, drma and excuses..
I pray we remember God sits high and looking down low. Gods blessing on our souls.
