ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Walter Cameron, 61, of Branson Estate, West End appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today, November 8, 2012 charged with abduction (with intent to have sexual intercourse), indecent assault and assault occasioning bodily harm.

Cameron, a heavy equipment operator, could not offer a plea to the charges as they were indictable and is represented by Attorney-at-Law Corinne George while the prosecution’s case was presented by Crown Counsel Herbert Potter.

Magistrate Tamia Richards heard that the Virtual Complainant (VC), also of Branson Estate, made a report at the West End Police Sation against the defendant on January 28, 2012 at about 1:50 A.M.

The two were reportedly at a bar at East End and he offered her a ride home in his vehicle. The VC reported that he had given her rides before and she sat in the front passenger seat on this occasion.

While travelling from East End to Road Town, in Paraquita Bay in the area of H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), she stated that he said “I don’t trust no woman these days.” She did not offer any response.

The VC further related that the accused then allegedly said “You a bad minded woman,” and she asked him if he offered her a ride to make trouble with her. He then allegedly began to use indecent language and said “ayo woman is a set of whore, ayo aint looking for man who helping ayo, you too [expletive] ungrateful and bad minded.” He allegedly added, “I give you $500 when you going to have surgery and I could have paid the bank with the money but I give it to you but you asked me for help and you gave me nothing.”

She then told him when she feels better she will pay him back and he allegedly responded, “no, no… it’s a good thing I have my wife home.” The VC then reportedly told the accused “go home to meet your wife.”

Upon reaching Sea Cows Bay in the Anglican Church area, the defendant allegedly turned the jeep around and headed back towards Road Town. She then told him to stop and let her out as she tried to release the seat belt.

The defendant then allegedly hit her hand and told her not to open the [expletive] seat belt and continued on to Road Town heading in the direction of Rite Way then to Joe’s Hill Public Road. She again asked him to stop and let her out. He allegedly replied “I will not stop and let your mother [expletive] out,” to which she replied, “I did not expect this from you, I thought that you was a decent person, I did not know you had that side.” The accused then allegedly said, “Hush your mother [expletive].”

On reaching Rudy’s Bar at Mayer’s Estate, she again tried to exit but the defendant allegedly prevented her by locking all the doors and windows of the vehicle. He then allegedly grabbed her by her face and told her “Give me a kiss.” She responded by knocking away his hand and he ‘pelted’ a slap at her which caught her in the area of her chest. The prosecution stated also that the defendant allegedly 'pelted' another slap which she blocked with her left hand. She then reportedly hit him with her right hand.

The VC, Crown Counsel Potter continued, reported that the defendant became angry and opened the door and allegedly began to push her out of the vehicle while it was still moving. The accused then allegedly said, “I will kill your mother [expletive] you ungrateful mother [expletive],” after which she tried to force herself more into the seat and began to cry while making a call to her daughter.

She told her daughter she was with the defendant and he was allegedly trying to push her out of the jeep while it was moving. She further told her daughter that the accused was allegedly making sexual advances towards her and was saying he wanted some p**** and told her daughter to call the Police in case anything happened to her as she had no more money on her phone.

Her daughter then called back because she could not get the Police and she then asked the daughter and [the daughter’s] boyfriend to come for her. She started to give her daughter directions on the phone relating that she had just passed Rudy’s Bar and the defendant had taken the road to Carrot Bay.

The VC also reported that the defendant allegedly kept cursing and calling her whore and saying that he wants some p**** and touched her left leg and was trying to touch her private parts while driving. She also reportedly told the Police that the vehicle almost ran off the road about three times.

It was further stated in the report that they came down the last hill before the school at Carrot Bay and she noticed the daughter and her boyfriend at the school gate and asked the defendant to leave her there but the defendant did not stop.

The daughter and boyfriend followed the vehicle to the defendant’s yard where he reversed into his garage. The VC was able to escape from the vehicle and went to the daughter and boyfriend.

A report was then made at the West End Police Station where she was asked if she needed medical attention and she responded “not at the moment”.

The defendant was arrested on a warrant at his residence on November 5, 2012, the court was told.

Cameron was offered $100,000 bail with two sureties and was asked to report to the West End Police station on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week between 6 A.M. and 6 P.M. He was also asked to surrender all travel documents and instructed to have no contact of any nature with the defendant.

Mr Potter revealed that the file was incomplete but was asked to make disclosure and he said this would be done before the end of the day. Cameron will return to court on January 25, 2013 for a preliminary inquiry into the matter.

I couldn't agree more... people just letting dey emotions get the better of them. Nobody stopping to consider that "innocent until proven guilty" protects not just the accused, but protects the public as well.

Everybody carrying on like this man guilty arready even without a trial. We need to make sure (especially the jurors chosen for the case) that he really guilty, otherwise not only would they be convicting an innocent man!!!!.

        Keep a level head, people.

He is just what he is nasty. He do not know how to treat a woman. I am suprise that he have a wife. She is such a nice lady. Shame on you . You a disgrace to men. You have a wife at home and you out looking at other woman in her vehicle. SHAME ON YOU. Giving other woman money and I am sure you do not take care of your home. If you did you will not be out you ulgyself looking woman. At that time you need to be home in the house with your wife. Women leave these nasty men alone. They could be bringing home all kind of sickness to you. It is not worth it. If they want it from the outside let them go.

I hope they put him in jail if this is true so he have time to sit and think about what he did. If his wife had ask for that money he would have given her an excuse. He thought it nothing to give it to someone else. If they keep giving all take it, some of them to nasty with themselves

It is reported that this incident ocurred on January 28, 2012 but an arrest was only made this week? Is this when the VC made the report? This is confusing.

We desperately need a system where after 3 strikes one is out for good! If one breaks the law no matter how petty the crime like this one appears you are locked up for good if you are a repeat offender.

If you women would educate your all self instead of looking to see which man you could beg to help pay your house rent, do your nails, buy weave etc you all wouldn't be in a lot of these positions you all get in today.

According to Kat Williams: You women like to upload a set of half naked pics on the Internet, upload a Diploma!!!!!

What happen to work for what you want or what you dont have you do with out or what you have you make a dollar outa 15cents? We woman need to have our priority straight!! Now as for this man with this money for sex mentality, but then again many men have 2 heads but only think with one. We need to wake up from seeing these story and stop begging man and tricking man for money.
