CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- The [British] Virgin Islands National ‘All Stars’ Basketball Team played their final game in the Paradise Jam Tour in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands (USVI) against University of Massachusetts (Umass) at the Virgin Islands (UVI) Gymnasium on August 22, 2019.

The VI team; however, were outplayed by Umass, losing 45-114.

Tavon J. Phillip was the top scorer for the Virgin Islands with 12 points while Steve E. Parillon netted 10 points.

Top scoring for Umass was CJ Jackson with 28 points.

Playing against collegiate level Division One teams from the United States of America (USA), the Virgin Islands, although just there to gain valuable experience, were unable to register a win in five games.

The Paradise Jam Tour runs from August 7 to August 24, 2019. The other teams involved are Northern Kentucky, University of Calgary, Youngstown State, Abilene Christian and the USVI.

The VI squad

The Virgin Islands All Stars team comprised Romain Minott, Eral Penn, Stephon S. Caul, Kimron A. Telemaque, Malachy S. Payne, Elroy Bollers, Vedal Penn, Riquan Fahie, Revaughn Sprauve, Shakeem Blackmore and Steve E. Parillon.

The team was coached by Brian S. Brewley aka ‘Bash’.
