Harrigan-Scott & Kelly to compete @ AP Invitational in Guyana

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- World Indoor bronze medallists, Tahesia G. Harrigan-Scott and LaVerne Jones-Ferrette, along with Ashley N. Kelly, are just some of the Caribbean stars down to participate at the Aliann Pompey Invitational on June 18, 2016 in Guyana.

Harrigan-Scott, the [British] Virgin Islands’ 2008 World Indoor 60m bronze medallist, is set for a 100m showdown with Jones-Ferette of US Virgin Islands. Jones-Ferette is her country’s 100m and 200m record holder with 11.07 and 22.46, respectively.

Also in the field, is Barbados’ 200m record holder with 22.91, Jade Bailey.

Harrigan-Scott, the 2006 and 2010 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games 100m champion, will also contest the women’s 200m.

Samantha Edwards of Antigua, Kelly, also of the [British] Virgin Islands, and Jones-Ferrette are also in the half lap field.

Both Harrigan-Scott and Kelly have qualified for the Rio Olympics.

Guyanese duo of Adam Harris and Jeremy Bascom will take on Tre Houston of Bermuda, and Ayedole Taffe and Kyle Geraux, both of Trinidad and Tobago, in the men’s 100m dash.

Tabarie Henry of USVI, USA’s Brycen Spralin are in the men’s 400m.

The women’s 400m should be hot with former CAC and Carifta Games champion Kadecia Baird of Guyana, Kineke Alexander of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Kelly and Edwards.

Eddie Lovett of USVI, Rueben Walters of Trinidad and Tobago, Brian Richards of Canada and Joshua Thompson are listed for the men’s 110m hurdles.

Janeil Bellille of Trinidad and Tobago leads the women’s 400m hurdles field, which also includes Katrina Seymour of Bahamas, and Guyanese, Jenea McCammon and Jaivairia Bacote. (Track Alert)
