Great Sportsmanship @ SCBBC Showtime in Paradise Games - Milton C. McLean
Impressive Talent
Wrapping up a fantastic series of weekend games, Mr McLean said, “I was very impressed by the talent level of most of the children, particularly those representing Zero Tolerance, Nuff Respect and BVI Strong. The outstanding performance by Nuff Respect out of St Thomas should be an eye-opener for us here in the BVI.”
He said the talent level of the young 9-12 ballers should be heralded, “They were awesome!” he told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) in an invited comment.
According to Mr Mc Lean, while the few fans on hand seemed to be disappointed by the low scoring of BVI Strong with 4 points, the champs amassed 28 early in the 3rd quarter, “Nuff Respect is seasoned well trained, well coached by the Callenders and Callwoods. On the other hand, we put an all-star squad together that did not train… we needed more fan and parental support,” he said moving forward for next year’s tournament.
Looking Forward to 2020
According to Mr McLean, when the organisation gets it right, they should be much improved for next year's tournament, “I am very happy with the SCBBC Parents Group for the hard work that they put in as well as other volunteers who scored, refereed, announced and performed other duties.”
He further expressed gratitude to the media for advertising the event and for airtime, to Mr Stephen Payne, Director of the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Road Town and also several sponsors including Quality Construction, Nanny Cay Hotel, The Boys Service Station, JTV and the Razor Blades.
