The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with registration for the competitive go-kart races ending at noon. Entrance to the event is free, but a registration fee of $10 is required to enter the race competition.

Persons attending the event should access the college's parking area via the Agriculture Department road as the main entrance to the college will be closed to vehicle traffic to facilitate the safe use of the go-karts and other events.

Apart from the races, there will also be a separate section for casual go-kart drivers, inflated rides, video games, board games such as dominoes, a cricket and football competition, and plenty to eat and drink.

"The Rotary family in the Virgin Islands has a proud history of service to the Territory and specifically the Rotary Club of Road Town has been very fortunate that over the years we have been able to deliver wherever there is a need in the community," said club president, Mr. Shan Mohamed.

He further explained that the club felt that it was only fitting that they celebrate the club's anniversary with a wholesome event for the entire family. Mr. Mohamed noted the support for the event from community partners, including LIME BVI, HLSCC, Mourant Ozannes, Splash Zone and NAGICO Insurances.

"During our annual Kiddies Fiesta last year at the Old Recreation Grounds we had a number of persons who said that they enjoyed the event and asked us to stage more family-based events. As a club we felt it necessary to respond to this outpouring of requests as we have done in other instances where we have donated dialysis machines to the hospital, monetary contributions to the Family Support Network, annual health expos with free screenings to the community, repairs to homes for the elderly and other donations," Mr. Mohamed noted.

Special attention has been placed to ensure that the racing circuit is safe and drivers are equipped with the necessary safety gear. Additionally, as a precaution, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTS) will be on hand to provide assistance in case of emergency.

Drivers must be at least 10 years and satisfactorily able to reach the pedals. Younger drivers must be accompanied by an adult. Bumping is not allowed and drivers must follow the instructions of the officials at all times. Drivers not showing proper control will be removed immediately from track and in the case of emergency, persons must wait for assistance.

As it relates to the inflatable rides, there should be no shoes, food, jewelry, watches, and no jeans allowed in rides with slides.
