ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The search mission being led by the US Coast Guards has taken on new dimensions as they are currently working with data from the GPS instrument found on the boat missing fisherman Carlos Titley went out to sea with.

The young fisherman, who is a native of the Virgin Islands, has not returned home or been heard from since he left his family on November 1‎1, 2016 for a fishing mission.

An alarm was raised after he did not return home by the following morning.

While the Dutch Coast Guards had found his boat minus him on November 12, 2016 off St Croix, US Virgin Islands (USVI) and the mission handed over to the US Coast Guard, it's this news site's information that because of the GPS system that was found on the vessel the search parties are now using data gathered from it to conduct their search in a more comprehensive way.

The search for Mr Titley continued yesterday, November 14, 2016 and up to press time there had been no sign of Titley. It's not clear how longer the search will continue; however, the man’s family members and friends are praying for the best.

Something is very fishy about this situation.

Fishy how? The man was deep sea fishing and the manner in which the boat was found, i.e. in gear but very slow pace shows this. If he fell over for some reason there's no way he could get back on as he was alone and the engines running etc. Nothing fishy just very unfortunate.

Ok, he was deep sea fishing not deep sea diving. How can a person just disappear like that and only the boat is found. If the boat was upside down or had sunk it would have been more clear that he may have drown. Never safe to go out deep sea fishing all by yourself.

Carlos Normally goes fishing on his own time to time. He has been doing it for years. He does his best thinking when he go out there and he always text me and family
members every two hours. Just to say he's ok. Plus he was suppose to go fishing with a friend but he didn't get to go again. He's a very well known experience fisherman that can hold his own. His family, friends and I are currently hoping for the best of his return. We can only hope and pray. Some of y'all would argue with ur assumptions and talk about what y'all don't know. Yes this is very difficult situation for his family, friends and I. Probably the sea got a lil rough. We could only wonder as to what happen out there. Only god knows what happen to him. I hope he's alive and suffering from memory loss cause we could help jog his memory. We love for him to return alive for the holidays. Bae, we love u please come home to us!!!

Something is way fishy the bare fact that the he went sailing east of VG and the vessel was found North East of ST CROIX, thats insane. Some will argue that there was no blood found in the vessel so that just proves he must have gone over board but that does not make sense. God knows though this sounds like another Isiah and Snoopy situation. His ppl know wassup i guess

Was he using a fishing rod? Is that his usual method of fishing? Perhaps he caught something large and while trying to pull it in, he lost his balance. If he does use a rod, was it found on the boat?
When making sarcastic remarks, remember he has a family and this is very difficult for them.

everyone who goes out in those fishing boats should be wearing a life vest, this needs to be made mandatory
    • @SMH vest don't save lives (15/11/2016, 19:04) Like (7) Dislike (0) Reply
Now don't take me head off without hearirng me out. I'm speaking form a real life situation. I know of an incident where someone was wearing a vest while fishing (using fish traps/pots) and their vest hooked up in the trap while pushing it back over board. That person wás trapped while the fish trap was sinking. If it wasn't for the other person In vessel fast thinking and grabbing the rope attached to the trap and hauling it back from sinking they would have drowned, wearing a vest. They had already sank a good way down.

For we to be assuming if he had it on he would have been safe is not entirely true.

I am hoping he is out there wondering around somewhere on land suffering from memory loss and alive. Hoping that someone spot him. Carlos, your friends and family want you home safe and sound for the Holidays. This is so nerve wreaking not knowing where you are or what happen to you out there.

I do hope this incident open the eyes of many others to the following.

    1. Life jacket should be worn at all times. Even those who have a boat for recreational use. It saves lives.

    2. If you intend to go out fishing always carry someone with you.

    3. Every hour send a message to someone close letting them know you are well and ok.

If not all three the first two the government need to make mandatory. And not just make it law. But enforce it as well. If catch without on the waters. Put a heavy fine.

I do pray and hope his family find strength in these hard timea. Loosing a love one is never easy

@Old, you do have a point. Sorry but, from the way they found the boat, he must have fell or something pull him overboard. The man is an experience fisher man. Something happened. I still have hope that he is found alive.
