‘Govt attempted to throw the public off’ – Hon Julian Fraser RA
He was speaking on the VIP’s radio programme ‘Let’s Talk’ aired on Wednesday February 18, 2015 during which a number of issues were brought to the fore.
The VIP Boss made reference to the occurrences of February 12, 2015 during which the Government sought to change the Order Paper so that questions and answers could be dealt with at the end. That sitting went into recess for the night without the questions being addressed and the sitting resumed on Tuesday February 17, 2015 at which time the questions and answers were addressed.
“…the Opposition is doing their job…some people don’t want to believe it. When we go to the House with our questions [they relegate] the questions to the end of the list, throwing the listening public off. [This] would be in the interest of the Government and not the people,” he said.
“I think that there is some valuable information that comes across through the question and answer period to the public and I was told that this is the only time they get an opportunity to know what’s going on,” said Honourable Fraser.
Caller praised VIP
Further, a caller to the show commended the party for being a role model for the territory and for keeping the public informed about issues in the country.
“I would like to commend the VIP Opposition Party for the wonderful job they have been doing in keeping the public informed on many issues in the territory. It is clear that we cannot rely on the NDP to get the truth on the state of our country,” the caller said.
“Keep up the good work because you are [inspiring] a lot of young people. I am seeing the Virgin Islands Party as true role models for the country going forward and a party that will not lie or curse. So job well done,” the caller said.
In response to the caller, Hon Fraser said, “I just want to thank the caller for his words of encouragement and in acknowledging that the Opposition is doing their job. Some people don’t want to believe it.”
“I want to also thank you for commending us for not cussing because just this last sitting the advice to someone high up was to tilt the playing field and lie about it if you have to and if you get caught cuss if you must,” he said.
“We don’t believe in that really,” said Hon Fraser.

Your post was doing good until you reach that p.ss "we need a coalition government come 2015/2016 ask st kitts"
You cant be from here because we had that kind of Gov't for years and it didn't work out too well.
St Kitts had a party Gov't and it worked for about 16 years. They made a change because after ruling for so long thye got cocky and careless!
We get more done when a full Party is in, ask NDP!
They took advantage of uneducated/poor people especially con them out of their land.
Anything to be heard i guess
