SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Alternative Community Transformation (ACT), the vibrant youth group from the Third District, yesterday April 18, 2015 held a successful fundraising fun day for children of the district and the wider community in the compound of the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, Sea Cows Bay, Tortola.

At the fun day, scores of children and adults enjoyed a day of fun and excitement, with various activities available for the entertainment of everyone.

Speaking with this news site at the fun day, President of ACT Kimberly Parker-Fraser said the turnout was good compared to last year when the rain affected the turnout.

"This year we were thinking that it would rain again but the sun came out," she said.

"We had a big turnout when compared to last year with lots of games and activities. We didn't have all the games that we wanted but it was a success," she said.

Parker- Fraser said that despite the fact the group has less members than when it was formed a little over a year ago, they still manage to undertake a lot of community development projects.

Chairman of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) Honourable Julian Fraser RA (R3 ) came out to support the group's activities and said that despite the high costs, the group continues to make things happen for the community.

"I come around to show support to the group. I think that it is a community group that is well needed and I think they are doing a fantastic job. I think it takes courage to put on such an event considering that everything costs money," he said.

However, there was no dunking pool this time like there was at the event last year when Hon Fraser put himself up to be ‘dunked’. The senior legislator, however, involved himself in a sack race and showed that he still has much leap in him.
