ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Hundreds poured into the cool interiors of the Multi- Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town to witness the 8th staging of the signature event of Summer Sizzle BVI, a never-should-have-missed affair, particularly to those who wanted to witness classy, top of the line, fashion at its best.

The Global Glamour Runway show, which was the highlight of the weekend of activities, took place on Saturday July 16, 2016 to a large crowd.

Models from New York, London, Caribbean and in the Virgin Islands showcased the works of designers, Rouland Mouret of Paris, Duro Olowu of London, Maria Cornejo of Chile, PRISM of London, CAPARA of Belgium, Arden Warhol and TOME of NYC, Mark Anthon of Jamaica, Randy Madray of Guyana, Roger Gary, Cesar Galindo, Andrew Nowell and Carlton Jones from NYC as well as six of the territory’s most promising designers mentored by Kristin C. Frazer of Trefle Designs: Liliana O. Rhymer, Rhenique Cooper, Khadisha Isaac, Ruth N. Headlam, Sasha Richards and Akeem Stanley.

The four-day weekend event, which is produced by Signature by Terry Donovan Events, drew celebrity, international fashion photographer, author, and current host of “The Face”, Nigel Barker, who was the host of the show as well as others.

The only disappointment was that Golden Globe Award winner and star of #1 hit show, Empire , actress Taraji P. Henson, was unable to make a special celebrity guest appearance.

Founder and CEO of the event, Terry T. Donovan said the backdrop of the Virgin Islands is the ideal location for Summer Sizzle BVI and the successful staging of another Signature Event.

When Virgin Islands News Online sought feedback from several of the attendees, some of the remarks were that the show was “very good”, “awesome” and “as we expected from Terry Donovan”. Others even went as far as to say that there were several pieces that they or a family member could actually wear.

Nigel Barker is coming back!

Celebrity Barker said there are very few places in the world that he would take his family and the VI is one of them. “I am coming back,” he said.

“I really am enjoying myself. The people are amazing; you guys are so nice. It is so beautiful here. With three words like British, Virgin and Islands coming together, I don’t see what can go wrong,” he said to an appreciative crowd.

He also commented that the territory has great talent and persons are coming out to support the show.

the black net cover up would have been more effective if it covered more and left more to the imagination.
This is totally distracting and not necessarily a good design. Just one person's opinion.
