German Tourist dies at CGB beach

CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI - A tourist who visited the Cane Garden Bay (CGB) beach area yesterday November 12, 2012 reportedly met his demise while swimming.

Virgin Islands News has now been able to confirm reports that a 73 year old German male tourist died while he was at the CGB beach.

He was pronounced dead at the Peebles Hospital at noon today (November 12, 2012) according to information received from Public Relations Officer Diane Drayton of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).

It was also reported that the man's name was being withheld until his family has been identified.

Virgin Islands News Online will provide additional information as it becomes available.

      My condolences go out to his family. With the way the seas have been rough these days, some folks say they are calling for lives. Well they got one.

    The Goverment need to hire more lifeguard and put the equipment they need to run the beaches proper. On tv I see the lifeguard have a tower station. There is none, so NDP in power do what is rite and get the job done before a next life is taken away to these wonderful beaches

      O cruise ship at the time. So sorry to his family but I want them to know everyone did all they could. RIP xxx
