Full turnout @ Pier Park's 1st New Moon movie night

WICKHAM'S CAY 1, Tortola, VI- With some persons seeking opportunities to come out of the home for safe activities following the COVID-19 lockdown, the management of Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park stepped up to the plate with its New Moon movie night event on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

The first of the two night feature was well attended, providing the relaxing mood with two family movies Scoob and Sonic shown on the lawns of the park.

More than 80 persons attended.

The event culminates tonight, Sunday, July 19, 2020.

The movies to be shown are Back to the Future from 7:30pm and High Note from 9:30pm respectively.

According to Business Development Manager of Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, Ms Zoe J. Walcott had previously said the aim of the movie night, along with the other activities of the New Moon event, is to also stimulate economic activities at the park.

"We appreciated you and can confirm that we will work steadily to increase the experience," Ms Walcott said of the Full Moon event.

Meanwhile, sanitisation measures and social distancing are being observed and the park has placed several sanitisation stations throughout the park as well as the restroom facilities.

Patrons are reminded to wear face masks.

    This is very nice..heard that Walmart in the US will be turning their parking lots into drive-in theaters.. maybe Elton can also showcase his movies this way as well..Nice!. I pray all stay safe in Jesus’s Name.

        Why can you have 80 when my restaurant can only have 50 and my space is more than 5000ft2 outosde before you come with that excuse.

    Did they have a function on Sunday evening also? If they did, then they need to be conscientious as the noise in town coming from over on the Cay was deafening.
