FSN to honour supporters @Shades of Purple Weekend

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As part of its ‘Shades of Purple’ weekend in commemoration of its 30 years of service to the [British] Virgin Islands, Family Support Network (FSN) will be expressing an attitude of gratitude to its many supporters over the three decades the organisation has been in existence.

This will take the form of a Brunch and Awards Celebration at The Moorings in Wickham’s Cay II on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 10:00am.

“For it is only through their generosity and community spirits that FSN still stands,” stated Director of FSN, Sasha H. Stoutt.

Prior to the activity at The Moorings; however, there will be a Commemoration Ceremony at the St Georges Anglican Church, the starting grounds of FSN in the VI.

Family Fun Day

On Saturday, October 26, 2019 FSN, in keeping with its motto, will be having a Family Fun Day at Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

The public is invited to attend.

“FSN is about supporting and encouraging healthy family dynamics so we thought it would only be benefiting to have a day for families to come and enjoy some games, eat food, face paint and having fun in our bouncy house and learn more about FSN and the other groups that we have invited,” Mrs Stoutt stated.

She added, Family Support Network arriving at 30 years of service is a monumental accomplishment and “we are excited, grateful and humbled that the community has always been so supportive. As our motto states, ‘Healthy Families, Healthy Community’, I know that this will continue to be our goal.”

Premier Fahie acknowledged work of FSN in HoA

The work of FSN was lauded in the House of Assembly on October 18, 2019 by Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1), who has been a supporter of FSN even as a Member of the Opposition.

Speaking to members and supporters of FSN in the gallery during the continuation of the Seventh Sitting of the First Session of the Fourth House of Assembly, Hon Fahie welcomed the “hard fighting and hardworking” association and committee members.

“And from this Honourable House we want to say that we are very pleased with your efforts. We know at times it seems like a thankless jobs in terms of all the counselling, all the time that is spent with persons who have gone through abuse…Premier Fahie stated, adding that it is “not an easy road” to be there for everyone.
