FREDERIKSTED, St. Croix, USVI - A teen who was drowning after diving into the ocean from the Ann E. Ambramson Pier in Frederiksted, United States Virgin Islands (USVI) was saved by one of his friends earlier this week, according to a video sent to The Consortium last week.

The young man, Saeed Phillips, who was in the water but had gotten out prior to his friend, jumped back in after witnessing his friend struggle to stay above water.

The young man, a member of the Caribbean Boys and Girls Center—a nonprofit providing after-school programs for young people—helped his friend get back on the pier, where he checked to see if he needed further attention.
