‘Foxy’ to be inducted into Charter Yacht Hall of Fame in Antigua

GREAT HARBOUR, Jost Van Dyke, VI- Virgin Islands cultural and tourism icon Philicianno ‘Foxy’ Callwood, OBE will have more honours bestowed on him, this time further afield, as he is to be inducted into the Charter Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA) International Charter Yacht Hall of Fame in December.

Mr Callwood, a simple man who is nevertheless known and respected worldwide, is reportedly being inducted in recognition of his contributions in the tourism sector of the Caribbean.

The induction ceremony will be held at Copper & Lumber Store Hotel, Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua on December 6, 2015 as part of the Antigua Charter Yacht Show scheduled for December 4-10, 2015.

“For some reason or the other they decided to induct me into the Charter Yachting Hall of Fame in Antigua and Barbuda. I will be going to Antigua to accept that award,” Mr Callwood told Virgin Islands News Online.

“I feel great because I think it will play right into the idea that I have for Jost Van Dyke,” Mr Callwood further stated.

The businessman and cultural icon explained that he would like to see companies set up on Jost Van Dyke that would specialise in five things: Health, Education, Conservation, Fishing and Agriculture.

It is an idea he hopes materialises in the near future so that the people of Jost Van Dyke can be empowered.

Mr Callwood is the owner of the popular Foxy's Tambarind Bar on Jost Van Dyke. He also organises one of the biggest international stage shows in January.

Tourists to Jost Van Dyke usually blog of the charming and humble personality of Mr 'Foxy' Callwood, a name that is known far and wide.

The Antigua Charter Yacht Show, which was formed to benefit the yachting industry in Antigua, attracts professional charter brokers from some of the most elite yacht charter houses worldwide, as well as some of the biggest names in yachting journalism.

    Congrats Foxy! He told us this while holding court in the Road Town Clinic waiting room. He then gave us a rendition of his whole entertainment show!

    not such a great place, kind of sleazy and caters to american po'buckers with no taste. most won't like this post,
    but the vibes at foxy's when its in full swing, aren't very nice. overrated. the taboo at east end on Jost is nicer.
    he's alright guy but i wouldn't put him on a pedastal.
