VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Four contestants will be vying for the Miss Virgin Gorda Easter Festival crown this year.

The pageant will be held on March 23, 2013 at the Darwin George Easterville, according to Chairman of the Virgin Gorda Easter Festival Committee, Mr Rupert Vanterpool jr.

The contestants are Mindy Paul, Emoni Prince, Sylvanna Charles and Gwenisha Wilkerson. The contestants were introduced to the public for the first time at the recent Miss Gorgeous Pageant at the Catholic Community Center in Virgin Gorda.

The reigning queen is Miss Tanieka Gludd, who had told Virgin Islands News Online when she won the crown in April 2012 that she intended to enjoy her reign and learn as much as possible. She has been doing just that and so much that she recently joked that she was not quite ready to give up the crown.

One can hardly doubt that Ms Gludd would now, more than ever, have her eyes on the bigger stage as she had also said she had intentions of entering the Miss Teen BVI Pageant and to also one day vie for the Miss BVI crown.

Meanwhile, more on the upcoming pageant will be disclosed on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at the Virgin Gorda Administration Complex conference room where a joint press conference for the 2013 Virgin Gorda Easter Festival and the 17th Annual Fisherman’ Jamboree will be held.
