ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Four extremely lucky persons will soon be owners of brand new vehicles.

This is because at least four vehicles, a Mercedes Benz, a 2016 Nissan X-Trail, 2016 Audi Q3 and a Nissan Versa 2016, are currently being raffled for the purpose of fundraising by the VI Horse Owners Association, the BVI Red Cross, Tola Radio VI, and the BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation respectively.

2016 Audi Q3- VI Horse Owners Association

In the case of the VI Horse Owners Association, the raffle is being done in partnership with CCT Freedom Summer Fun and Promotions. There are two ways to enter to win the brand new 2016 Audi Q3: purchase a ticket for $25 or top up $30 or more with CCT and receive credit plus an entry ticket into the raffle.

Proceeds will be going towards repaying the new modern professional 8-stall gate that the Association just had installed at Ellis Thomas Downs in Sea Cows Bay. The draw will be done at the August Tuesday Horse Races.

2016 Nissan X-Trail- BVI Red Cross

The BVI Red Cross is raffling a 2016 Nissan X-Trail. This fundraising raffle coincides with the organisation's 60th-anniversary celebrations and the aim is to have the draw in September, providing all tickets are sold by then.

Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at BVI Red Cross headquarters, some Red Cross volunteers, Burke’s Garage Ltd and Caribbean Insurers Ltd.

Nissan Versa 2016- Tola Radio VI

The cheapest car raffle, for $1, is being done for a new red Nissan Versa 2016 by Tola Radio VI, and the winner will be receiving it just in time for Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival. The proceeds will be going towards making the internet based radio’s move to FM stereo.

Mercedes Benz- BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation

The most expensive of the car raffles is the 2015 Mercedes Benz, where tickets cost $100. The raffle is a collaboration among Caribbean Insurers Limited, International Motors in Fish Bay, and the BVI HIV/AIDS Foundation. Similarly, all funds will go towards that charitable organisation.

The raffle will be drawn on Thursday December 1, 2016- World AIDS Day.

Things can not be that bad; some folks have things better than others; we have car dealerships giving away cars..lets hope someone who truly needs a vehicle can win one

The car dealers ain't giving you these cars, you have to buy them and when you sell all the tickets what leave after you pay the dealers is yours to keep. so stop fooling yourself thinking the dealers giving the people the vehicle them for free.

Hope these drawings are live and no tricks. Its definitely a good thing once its done honestly. I have tickets for all of them, though I'm a little worry about foul play. I guess its all about taking a chance.

can't more imagination be used for raffles than more cars on the road?? Fix houses for people? scholarships? An educational trip which will have a more lasting affect on someone's life instead of these shallow trappings? We don't need more cars.

So I thought that these car raffles were only an option for charity fundraising!?!? CCT wants to get back money for something they 'donated' and the radio station is looking to make some money for itself?!? ... Whichever government body is in charge of regulating these things needs to step up and do their job - people can't be doing these type of things for their own financial gain. SUPPORT THE RED CROSS AND HIV FOUNDATION!
