GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- This Sunday, April 30, 2017, Greenland will be a hot bed of searing passion and compulsive cricket as the FLOW Superfast LTE T20 Premier League and Division One have both reached the semi-final stages.

First up, Under the Tree will face VG Spartans at 11:00 AM after they took care of the Island Stars in last week’s elimination play off, by a comfortable 8 wickets.

Chasing just 176 for victory Under the Tree saw Emerald Prince (79 not out) and Terrance Ward (62 not out) compile a 156-run partnership to ease to victory, after Wayne Phillip had top scored with 55 for the Island Stars.

Ward had also picked up 3 wickets for just 11 runs, to dent the hopes of the Island Stars and had been well supported by Travis Jack who finished with 2 for 30.

VG Spartans had lost the first Play Off to the Vikings, who now await the winner of Sundays encounter to see who will be Division One Champion.

Vincy lose to Knights

In the Premier League eliminator, Vincy had arrived a man short and right from the first ball were severely punished by the Royal Knights, who batting first rattled up 296 from their 20 overs.

After the loss of two early wickets, Richard Fredericks and Joel LaFleur put on 165, with LaFleur falling four runs short of a deserved century on 96. Fredericks complied 76 before being run out backing up too far and Anthony Slowly bullied his way to 48.

Brent Defreitas finished with 2 – 41 and Kenrick Leslie 2 for 71

To chase down such a huge total was always going to be a challenge and despite some early fireworks from Ferris Pope and McTair James, the Vincy all but knew their defence of the AO Shirley Shield from 2016 was over.

Pope fell for 37, James 39, Neil Niles added 49 in the middle order and Leslie hit his way to 30 as the Vincy finished on 205 – 7, giving the Royal Knights a 92-run victory and a battle with RTW at 2:30 PM also on Sunday April 30, 2017.

Awaiting the winner of that game are the Cavaliers, in the Final scheduled for May 7, 2017 at Greenland Recreation Ground.
