WICKHAM’S CAY II, Tortola, VI – Five young ladies competing for the title of Miss BVI 60th Anniversary were last evening May 31, 2014 revealed to the Territory and the world at a cocktail reception hosted at The Moorings located in Wickham’s Cay II, Tortola.

The five young women are Leah L. Johnny 19, Jaynene Jno Lewis 24, Doneisha Maduro Findlay 19, Tecora Morgan 18 and Aribella L. Parsons, 21.

They are expected to compete for the crown in what is anticipated to be a highly competitive contest on August 3, 2014. It is one of the many events slated for the 60th anniversary celebrations.

All of the girls were flawless in their presentation of themselves to the crowd whose reaction was nothing but positive and supportive.

The attendance to last night’s event was respectable as the public came out to cheer the girls on.

I dont think its fair for the young lady who win miss eastwr festival in VG be apart of the Miss BVI Pagent. If she wins, how will she be able to hold to crowns for the same country. When she won the show in VG she should habe waited until next year.

Not true these young ladies run for shows to get the experience to take on the challenge of this show. Each state has a show and each winner goes up and vye for the title of Miss USA who then runs for Miss Universe. I dont see the issue at all!

If thats the case each person needs to be from a different island/district to then become Ms. BVI. But we dont do it like that so.

I agree with you. That was honestly my first thought when I saw she was a contestant. I'm not saying she wouldn't do good, I just think she should have waited.

I wonder who does the screening of contestants and if there are people scouting for candidates. They are all beautiful ladies but I am not sure if they will be able to do well in international competitions especially the Ms. Universe Pageant. They are just not international pageant materials for me. I have seen more lean, tall, beautiful women in the BVI that can be trained to be pageant ready.

With all the negativity in the community its hard for young ladies with the description that you are providing to come forward because they are not built for the criticism.

I wonder if any of you bvi or darto are international material. If no one ran then you all would be making noise. If you all dont have anything positive to say just shut your darn mouths..Its people like allu who make some of our finest girls dont want to run..always running your negative mouths..go back under your rocks man...struppsss

You are only talking about body/stature ... is that all that matters now? Being tall and lean? What even is the purpose of a pageant?
  • bvi (02/06/2014, 14:59) Like (2) Dislike (1) Reply
I totally agree with you @ Darto P.S yes 3 of those girls need hit the gym sorry to say, I just have to keep it real. These girls are not international material at all from seeing them at the Moorings. Maybe with training and guidance they maybe able to look the part.

Good Luck to all 5 ladies.
