FirstBank robbery suspect charged

The FirstBank robbery took place in July 2010.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Police have formally charged 28-year-old Royden Sebastien of Belmont with the FirstBank robbery which took place in July 2010.

He was one of the masked gunmen that entered the bank and fled with over $31,000.

A charged of cultivating cannabis and unlawful possession was also filed against Sebastien after a search warrant conducted at his residence on Friday resulted in the recovery of cannabis seeds, two black digital scales and what is suspected to be a cannabis plant. He and a female of the same residence were taken into custody for the offence, however she was later discharged.

Sebastian is expected to appear before Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Jan. 23 to face these charges.

Commissioner of Police Reynell Frazer pointed to Sebastien’s arrest as yet another demonstration that the Force will pursue criminals in order to bring them justice.

“Justice cannot always be swift but it is certain. Our detectives from CID supported by the forensic team were undeterred in their efforts to effect this arrest. We are pleased with their success.
