FirstBank notifies clients about 'security event'

- no impact on customers' deposits detected

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - FirstBank has detected a security event in its systems, which has impacted several of its service channels.

At this time, the Digital Banking platform for individuals, and the customer service call center, FirstLine Solutions Center, have been impacted. Immediately after the event was detected, the Bank took safety measures, restricting the availability of these services," FirstBank stated in a press release on October 26, 2020.

The banking institution did not go into further details of the security issue.

It said; however, that credit and debit cards are also working as usual and customers have the option of visiting the Road Town Branch and the ATM located at Nanny Cay.

“This event did not impact the safety of our customers' deposits. We continue to work diligently to restore these services” commented Angel Dawson Jr, Senior Vice President and BVI Market Manager.
