CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI - Located on the grounds of Ivan Dawson Primary School, the building, planting and cultivating of a completely organic community garden will begin Friday, May 10th.

We encourage any able bodied community members with wood saws and hammers to join us this Saturday morning, May 11th (8 a.m.) to accomplish this task.

The United Development Council is partnering with Ivan Dawson Primary School, Good Moon Farm and the Department of Agriculture to expose primary school children to growing and eating healthy foods.  We are excited to partner with local organic farmer, Mr. Aragorn Dick Reed in this project.  It is our collective goal to teach primary school students how to build and tend an organic school garden.

We are very pleased to announce sponsorship of this project by Tarris Hill Trading, a locally owned and operated construction firm.  Tarris Hill has generously contributed the building supplies needed to finish construction of the garden boxes at the school.

If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact Principal Helen Penn at 495-4625 or Chaunci Cline at 499-0776.

Please come out and be a part of this ground-breaking community endeavor.  Many hands make light work!
