SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI- The two Virgin Islands Party Members, Leader of the Opposition Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) and Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) often complain that their districts are being ignored by the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Government led by Premier and Minister of Finance Dr The Honourable D. Orlando Smith (AL).

The two Opposition Members claim that while the Government is trying to spite them by not giving them any work in their districts, they are in fact spiting the people of the two districts.

However, both the Premier and the Minister for Communications and Works Hon Mark H. Vanterpool (R4) have vigorously denied such allegations and often prove they do work also in the two Members’ districts by publicly announcing projects in both the first and third constituencies.

Finally a little bush cutting for 2017 in the 3rd

For months many persons using many of the secondary roads in the Sea Cows Bay area on Tortola have complained daily about the lack of bush cutting which makes driving challenging and unsafe.

Today, January 22, 2017 the Third District Representative Hon Fraser, in response to many residents who complained about the dangerous driving conditions because of the uncut bushes and overgrown trees, posted on Facebook "finally getting road cut" and sported photos of newly cut areas, in particular on the so called 'Elevator Hill.'

Many have said the annual bush cutting programme was scaled back last Christmas, because of the poor financial conditions of the territory.

The lack of bush cutting has resulted in many overgrown roadside trees, bushes, shrubs and twigs, that have reportedly caused driving and even walking extremely hazardous on already narrow roadways.
