Bevin Brathwaite: Only BVIslander farmers can get gov’t assistance
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Appearing before the 2012 Standing Finance Committee (SFC) to defend his Department’s Budget proposal Chief Agricultural Officer (CAO) Bevin Brathwaite sought to clarify which famer could and could not receive Government assistance through the farmer’s assistance programme.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “Farmer unity and consistent functional cooperation; not only within the farming community, but also with the Department of Agriculture is the only way that we can overcome the difficulties facing agriculture,” stated Chief Agricultural Officer Bevin Braithwaite at the opening of Farmers’ Week on February 10, 2012 at Paraquita Bay.

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI – Despite the lacklustre participation by farmers, Brian Hodge, copped the Champion Farmer award at the opening ceremony of Farmers’ Week that kicked off today, Friday February 10, 2012 at Paraquita Bay.
