Puerto Rico discovers uncounted ballots 1 week after election

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Puerto Rico’s elections commission said Tuesday, November 10, 2020, that it has discovered more than 100 briefcases containing uncounted ballots a week after the US territory held its general election, drawing criticism and scorn from voters who now question the validity of the outcomes of certain races.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Commonwealth Election Observer Mission (EOM) that was here to observe the June 8, 2015 general election in the Virgin Islands submitted its final report on the elections this week. It recommended a number of electoral reforms including an independent elections commission, fixed election dates and political parties subscribing to a Code of Conduct.
