Case dismissed against 3 in multi-million $ matter
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Magistrate Dr. Velon L. John was left with no recourse but to dismiss today November 5, 2014 the case against three of the men implicated in the 2012 multi-million dollar drug bust which saw them walking free.
Leon King guilty of money laundering!
PROSPECT REEF, Tortola, VI - This morning October 31, 2014 shortly after 10:00am Magistrate Dr. Velon L. John found Cane Garden Bay resident Leon King guilty as charged for the offense of money laundering and fined him $3K or three years imprisonment.
UPDATE: Attn. Daniels cites embellishment & disingenuousness by Crown
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “Magistrate [Dr. Velon L. John] did not grant my client bail on his own recognizance as compared to the other defendants who were granted a $1K bail with signed surety. This is clear embellishment and disingenuous on the crown,” said Attorney at Law Mr Stephen R. Daniels.
UPDATE: Jomo Jack & two others released on bail today
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – While they were granted bail on October 24, 2014 it was only today October 27, 2014 that Jomo Jack, Gerry Freeman and Hugh Erickson were seen by the news site leaving the Magistrate’s Court exercising their bail liberties.
