SEA COWS BAY, Tortola, VI – Search and Rescue officers rushed to the junk yard in Sea Cows Bay, where cars and other electrical items are crushed, a little after 11 a.m. today May 1, 2012 after a spark ignited a blaze which was quickly contained by fire officers.

VI Fire Officers away on United Kingdom attachment


ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Leading Fire Officers and Emergency Medical Technicians Messrs Benson Thomas and Gaston Walters are currently on an attachment with the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service Brigade in the United Kingdom from February 6th to 24th as the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue services continues to build capacity.

Manufacture problem suspected in latest vehicle fire

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Investigations conducted so far by officers of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue indicate that the cause for a vehicle recently catching on fire at Belle Vue may have been due to a manufacture problem.

VIFRS commissions two portable pumps

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - According to a Government Information Service (GIS) press release, the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services have increased their response capabilities with the commissioning of two new Angus LW800 portable fire pumps which are being used at the Anegada and Road Town fire stations.
