Residents tired of empty promises for consumer protection bill
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - “We are at the point where it is in the Attorney General’s hands now, where the AG has to bring forward swiftly consumer legislation that not just protects the consumers of this territory but also works to protect the business sector from unfair accusations. We’ll now have a process and a mechanism to actually manage the consumer affairs of the territory.”

Orlando Smith claimed a decisive victory at the polls over the then ruling Virgin Islands Party (VIP) of Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE. The NDP had lambasted the VIP government and had promised to fix the economy while being better listeners to the people.
