UPDATE: Protest action awaiting police permission
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Organisers are currently awaiting feedback from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) with regard to whether they will receive permission to proceed with what has now evolved into a protest motorcade on issues related to the economy and current cruise pier development negotiations.
UK ship to assist in decreasing drug trade coming from South American Countries
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The RFA Argus, a US aviation training ship sent by the United Kingdom to assist the overseas territories in the event of any natural disasters occurring, will aid the Virgin Islands (VI) in more ways than one. The ship and its crew members will also assist in decreasing and possibly eliminating drug trade coming from South American countries.
Drug trade a thorn in VI’s side – Morris
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – “Clearly, the elephant in the room is the illegal trade in narcotics. We know we have organised crime groups, gangsters, drug lords operating throughout the Caribbean including the BVI,” declared acting Commissioner of Police David Morris at the recent inaugural Crime Conference that was held at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium.
