PWD to pay more attention to “potholes patching”
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Public Works Department (PWD) will be paying more attention to the way in which they patch potholes across the Territory to ensure they are done in a more comprehensive way so that they can last longer.
UPDATE - Calming device to be replaced with "raised crosswalks"
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Communications and Works Hon. Mark Vanterpool has confirmed that the calming device at Beef Island will be replaced with "raised crosswalks" at strategic locations with demolition on the device set to begin on Monday March 26, 2012.
Hospital parking lot project suspended!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The works on the parking lot opposite Peebles Hospital has been suspended because the Public Works Department (PWD) had to do some redesigning for the road “right in front” of the lot, revealed Minister for Communications and Works Hon. Mark Vanterpool in an interview with this news agency yesterday February 20, 2012.
PWD unfairly criticised at times, says acting director
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Public Works Department’s (PWD) abilities of getting things done and prioritising projects in the past have come under fire by many, and according to the acting director, it’s unfortunate because the department was always working with the Government’s agenda.
