Warner ends Carifta Games career with 400m Hurdles silver

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada—After five athletes advanced to finals in the 100 and 400m at the 45th Carifta Games in St George’s, Grenada on Saturday March 26, 2016, there were no medals until Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner snatched silver in the first final on Sunday afternoon in the 400m Hurdles, to end her Carifta career.

Warner breaks 22-year old VI 400m Hurdles record

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Lakeisha “Mimi” Warner chopped 1.07 seconds off her personal best en route to taking down Pat Archibald’s 22-year old 400m Hurdles National Record mark of 60.0 seconds handheld time from 1984, when the BVI Athletics Association’s Development Series meet was held on Friday January 22, 2016.

Minister Walwyn wants more funding for Emerging Fellow Award 2013

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- For this year 2013, the government of the Virgin Islands has set aside $50,000 for the funding of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Emerging Fellows Award, however, Hon Myron V. Walwyn wants more money to expand the reaches of the programmes for the future.
