FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI — A Frederiksted man is before the criminal courts after allegedly slicing the hand of his pregnant girlfriend during an assault.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Jovanie Richardson, 20, of Horsepath will spend a total of of 20 months in prison for four counts of assault (2 counts) and damage to property (2 counts) after he was sentenced by Magistrate Dr Velon John today, February 7, 2014.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards expressed concern about the travel dilemma of a Virtual Complainant (VC) in an assault matter who had to travel all the way from St Croix, even as the defendant failed to present himself for trial.
