Mapp said in an interview with The Consortium on Thursday January 25, 2018, that if he’s disrespected on social media, he’d probably respond in kind, stating that while he sought the role of governor and expected to be criticized, being derided in certain derogatory terms, including racist slights, would not go unanswered.

Mapp at a press conference held at Government House today, February 22, 2017 revealed that his administration has been considering shutting government operations down one day every two weeks until September 30, 2017 to help keep the government afloat.

Mapp approved Bill No. 31-0375, repealing Act No. 7730 relating to the appropriation of $1M in connection with the litigation between the Government of the [US] Virgin Islands and the former owners of HOVENSA, and re-appropriating the $1M to the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority (P.F.A.) for professional services, studies, project development and expenses related to the St. Croix Brand Hotel Project.
