Police identify two of three homicide victims in STT shootings

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas — The USVI Police Department revealed during a press briefing Saturday afternoon that it had no suspects in custody relative to shootings in St. Thomas Friday that left three people dead. The department also revealed the identity of two of the three deceased victims and said weapons were not recovered from any of the crime scenes.

Ward of Kingwood, TX, age 34, who is in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections on a fugitive from justice charge, was arrested again on Friday, April 16, 2021, by the COVID-19 Enforcement Task Force and charged with fraudulent claims upon the government, access to a computer for fraudulent purposes, use of false information, and filing or recording forged instruments.
Policewoman allegedly submits fake COVID result to USVI portal

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI— A [US] Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) police officer has been arrested for submitting a fake COVID-19 test result into the USVI Travel Portal, police spokesman Toby Derima confirmed to the Consortium following an inquiry. The Consortium was made aware of the arrest Monday morning, April 12, 2021.
Yacht owner allegedly rapes employee during taxi ride in USVI

WAPA slapped with $48M Breach of Contract Lawsuit

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, USVI- The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) has been hit with a lawsuit from Wärtsilä North America, Inc., a Houston, Texas-based firm which in March 2017 entered into an engineering, procurement and construction agreement (EPC Agreement) with WAPA to design, engineer, procure equipment for, construct, start-up and test an LPG-fired reciprocating engine power plant at the Randolph Harley Generating Complex in St Thomas.

Shappert for the District of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) recently announced that Warren Michael Whyte, a citizen of Guyana, was sentenced after previously pleading guilty to illegally re-entering the United States after being ordered deported and removed.
