Recovering drug addict wants to become a professional counsellor

Sandy Lane Centre walks for substance abuse, mental health awareness
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Approximately 40 persons, including a number of children, gave up sleeping in late at the weekend to support the Sandy Lane Centre’s Walk to bring awareness to substance abuse and mental health in the Virgin Islands.
Man tells court change don’t come over night
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Mario Matthew, who came before the court yesterday August 29, 2012, facing drug charges, told the court that he is trying to stop, and "get from his old ways", but because he has been doing it for more than 20 years, it has developed into a habit, and change don’t just come over night; however, the court requested that he attend programmes at Sandy Lane Centre.
REPORT: Adolescent males are majority of patients treated at Sandy Lane Centre
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- In the 2011 Annual Report submitted by the Sandy Lane Centre, it stated that within the Virgin Islands (VI), the majority of males submitted to the care of the centre are between the ages of 12-21.
