ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – One caller to the Speak Out BVI radio show, felt that discussions of Independence were premature at the moment, especially if the Virgin Islands did not have a means of creating money for itself.

Mark Vanterpool, while updating the public on a local talk show, NDP Radio, informed a caller that the government is always conscious of the public’s safety, and always tries to enhance the safety methods and techniques within the Virgin Islands.
Hon. Alvin Christopher: “No works going on in my district”!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Second district representative and Virgin Islands Party Opposition member Hon. J. Alvin Christopher has addressed concerns about the slow pace of implementation for projects in his district, suggesting that Government, after only nine months in office, may only now be finding their feet.
Manse Road dug up again!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After spending monies to construct and pave the much needed Manse Road also known as Paul Wattely Drive contractors had to go back and dig up the same road weeks later to lay water pipes and electrical lines. The cost of this is not known at this time, although the Project Manager Greg Hodge claimed that the redoing was done at no additional cost to tax payers.
UPDATE: Has the UK stopped the Cruise Ship Pier Development Proposal?
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - As was firstly and accurately reported by Virgin Islands News Online, the United Kingdom Government has continued to express its concerns with the cruise pier expansion project. It is now unclear what will happen to the Project now that Premier Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith announced late Wednesday August 1, 2012, days following the accurate article by this news site, that the project must now go to Public Tender.

Gov’t to sign more sewerage contracts – Hon. Vanterpool
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Within another week, the Ministry for Communications and Works will sign approximately 22 petty contracts for the on-going sewerage works that is being executed in Road Town and East End.
