Why Virgin Islanders and other Residents are never listened to?

Over the years since I returned home in 1986 (and, I do believe the situation existed before I returned) this government and past governments in their endeavour to develop this territory, in numerous instances sought advisers and consultants. In the vast majority of cases, they always used non-Virgin Islanders.
Who are we?

We hear Politicians, Ministers of Religion, business owners and many other persons refer to this Territory as a Christian community. Those of us that read the bible have read the conversation between Jesus and his disciples when he asked them; who do people say I am? and after they answered him; he asked them; who do you say I am? This territory is now at a junction in its history (and has been for some time) where many people are asking, who are we?

We all understand why laws are made and in addition to the laws, regulations and policies are also put in place in conjunction with the laws. However, at times, I, like many of you are at a lost when we encounter situations with many government services that we find difficult to understand.

Presently living on a hill at Pockwood Pond, today December 17, 2017 is another interesting day in my life after Irma and Maria. It has been a very trying and at the same time an experience living out of town. During the weeks after these two devastating hurricanes and having lost my van to Irma it was a trying time getting back and forth into town so it was necessary to catch a ride daily.
