Mapp & Potter may get their limousines after all!

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St Thomas, VI — US Virgin Islands' Governor Kenneth E. Mapp and Lieutenant Governor Osbert E. Potter could receive their new limousines, worth $350,000 in total, after a Kurt Vialet amendment changed language in a bill intended to purchase emergency vehicles for first responder and law enforcement agencies of the US Virgin Islands (USVI) government.

Mapp unveiled a landmark agreement that would immediately net the Government of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) $220 million in cash at closing, up to $9 million to settle a legal claim, and up to $6 million for asphalt storage — bringing to a close a protracted battle that began with the refinery’s closing in 2012, and a failed attempt at acquisition by Atlantic Basin Refining, Inc. in December of last year.
